New glassware at LdF

Those look great! Double bubble is a bit unusual, that's for sure, but that cordon glass is the cats meow man.

I had to look again. This morning there were only three options posted, none of which was a cordon glass, but there it is now. Well, I suspect the bubble glasses will be useful to record the history of your absinthe drinking as a small, uncleanable residue will inevitably be left after every glass. I'm quite intrigued none-the-less, except to think about the expense of getting those on this side of the pond. Score one for the 'murikans.

I really love the simplicity of the 1850 repro, and the Cordon glass is wonderful...the double bubble is also verynice, but it seems a bit gimmicky.

I've been drinking out of these 170644206_748f889e13_t.jpg little bubble-glasses from Alandia for a couple of years without having any trouble cleaning them. It's a thousand times easier if you rinse it out and leave it upside-down to drip dry before you go to bed, but it's still possible to clean them the next day, even with a sugar residue.

I would have thought that using a bottle brush to clean it would be a no-brainer. Not to mention, as long as it's not scorched on, sugar is always dissolvable in plain ol' water if you let it sit for a few minutes...even less with some brush action.

What WBT said, no problem with the bubble glass. And I use the original one from 1850 regularly.

As for the price, the pictures don't do them justice, they're sturdier than they look, and made from a talented glass blower. You should see them for real before giving any opinion.

I've visited the 2 Simon Pearce studios in VT and purchased quite a bit from them. It is all very high quality artwork and these glasses will no doubt be the same. I will be getting a few.

Just a joke trid, because when you drink what's left in the bubble, it can spit in your face because of the little hole that separates the top from the bottom.

Wow, actually if you read that very quickly it can look... ahem...

And here I thought it might have had so much dirtier implications.

Killjoy. ;)

When I saw them at the St. G's release-day hooraw, I had to have one - even though that meant only buying one bottle of absinthe, instead of two. Cursed budget!

I think the entire line is gorgeous, and their sturdiness is a big plus when one has a cat that is *fascinated* by the smell of absinthe. If he sticks his nose in it (as is his wont and he moves faster than I can) at least I can be sure it'll probably stay upright.

Being able to pay a couple of dollars less ($68 instead of $74) and having the glass in-hand, immediately, was a big plus, too - although my husband is vexed he apparently put in an order for my Xmas present. That's okay, I told him, I want more than one glass in the collection. ;)

I think the purchase was well-worth the price. I'm very pleased with it. :)
