Grand Hotel

Recommended Posts

(Filmed in CA - Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios), set in Germany in 1932 - absinthe was available at that time.

Great movie, well worth watching. I was surprised to see the absinthe reference. Unlabeled bottle of absinthe.

"I'll have something sweet and cold, please.

- Louisiana Flip, sir?

Yes, that sounds very nice. Thank you."

I actually make it a bit different but I will definitely give your recipe a try.

Got the recipe from a bartender at a Las Vegas Strip Hotel and Downtown Las Vegas Hotel

Sounds great with the nutmeg!

Louisiana Flip

In a shaker with half filled of ice pour:

7/10 of white rum

1/10 of triple

2/10 of orange juice

Splash of grenadine

1 egg yolk.

Shake well and and pour in a flute.

CHEERS!!!

.

Garbo.jpg . . Can you believe that face? Great movie!

Speaking of old films, last night I saw an incredibly sweet and wonderful new "old" film: The Artist. It's a silent film shot in black and white, and unlikely to get wide distribution in the US. But the moment it hits Netflix, I heartily recommend adding it to your queue!

That Louisiana Flip looks great (both versions).
