Oh, George, you must have misunderstood! We never drink absinthe. We only talk about it.

On average, about 2 glasses 4 times a week*.

Sometimes more, sometimes less. Generally depends on how much I have around. When I have a lot of absinthe in the house I drink one or two glasses every day. Lately I drink two or three times a week.

Here's a great thread talking about the same thing. Would be interesting to know who's answer has changed since their last post.

My answer is still the same. :)

My answers are pretty much the same, too. I'm drinking much less beer and wine and a few more martinis. I feel much better about it, too.

Don't listen to those who would water down ahhh burn up the true history of absinthe, rather research the facts to determine the significance of the Green Fairy. Those who can't do it themselves, get their kicks trying to undermine those who can.

A few times a year, at this point, but I hear my number's been retired, and I'm being considered as an inductee into the Absinthe Hall of Shame.

Yes, I'm Krinkles the Clown on an absinthe a beer bender.

You got a problem with that?

No way, Dude! My absinthe consumption has remained consistent. I merely replaced most of the beer and wine with martinis. Good absinthe. Good gin. What are hangovers?

Apparently I'm pretty much the same as I ever was, except that now my consumption is based on how much I have around more than whether I'm in the mood for absinthe, because it seems I'm always in the mood for absinthe these days. I just try not to go through all I have before I can afford to replace it.

Now I'm drinking cocktails about as often, beer more often, and whisky every single day. I can afford to replace bourbon often so I do, but I drink single malts about like I do absinthe.

I understand it makes you crazy. That won't take much for me.

To answer your question. I may sip a glass or two a week but I may sip three glasses a night for a few days running. I prefer my absinthe on days that I can relax a bit and enjoy it. The stuff is expensive and like fine drinks or smokes, I feel it should be done when you can appreciate it.

Off the soapbox.

Some folks may cringe each time I use the term "Booze" regarding these high quality drinks.
I mean no offense. There are bottles of extraordinary booze out there. I've tasted a few. Relax.

I like to slam four or five shots of 'sinth before dinner. Then I just drink from the bottle until I pass out. I drink lots of water and let it louche in my stomach.

But I kid.

Asides from the copious amounts of Gin and Tonic when I go dancing on the weekends I enjoy a glass or two of Arak when I am writing during the week. When I was working third shift I didn't do much drinking at all, it was very awkward to pour a drink at seven in the morning, blatantly breaking my five o'clock rule.

I am drinking much less than I used to. For starters, I am trying to work on this "letting it age" nonsense. I am very proud of myself, and have had one bottle for over 6 months wothout opening it. Now I'm saving it for SoCal Trois. Also, I have been drinking tons less. I have been hitting yoga every night, and it is not good to do kundalini snockered. Trust me. So, I am down to a couple glasses on the weekends.

Man, I turned 35 and turned in a nancy-pants!

I've backed off to drinking primairly on weekends, vacation and holidays.

Usually one or maybe two glasses of absinthe and the rest beer when I drink. This weekend will be an exception as it is a big party weekend at the races.

One of this years bikes and the pilot "Mr Clean".

Someone dug those out of their tool box and put them on it.

I still live with my parents, so I tend to drink away from home (as they will automatically jump onto the 'you're an alcoholic, you should curb your drinking habits' conclusion).

But when I was visiting a friend, I finished a 50cl bottle in a week.

Since those 8 weeks, I haven't had a drop of alcohol, not even Absinthe. However, I am going to a Halloween party and I will bring a bottle of the stuff and probably finish that (with the help of friends) in one night!
