Absinthe "Art" on Ebay

Recommended Posts

Art solely for the art's sake is art itself in the very essence of it.

I am not harsh it is the world of art.

So, not to be mean, don't these two statements contradict each other? If art is just that, then what makes it harsh?

World of art (I mean art merchants, nouveaux riches, art forgers et al) is not based on art but on marketing, delusions, illusions, whereas art (genuine artists and serious art critics and historians) remains art and it speaks for those "artists" themselves if they paint only to get profit or fame.

So where does that leave a blind person?

I'm completely in the dark about that one, Mr. Sajak.

Can I buy a vowel from that buxom babe who reveals the letters?

art like music be catagorized as either challenging or popular? I saw this artist a few days before this post and she is hot but my impression of the art was the same impression I get with popular music, appealing to the masses but not challenging to the mind.
I can't fault someone for painting in an exaggerated expressionist style. But put a painting by any of the other artists mentioned in this thread next to one of hers and you'll see that it isn't of the same quality. There's a depth lacking in this painting that separates it from good work, so it falls into cliché. Obviously, enough people are moved by her sincerity to acquire the works. So now she is a Powerseller on eBay. And she cranks them out using formulas.
Dakini puts it much more eloquent than myself. But basically the same point I was trying to make.

50+ and "hot" don't really go together.
Sure they do B) post-899-1174493326.jpg So as not to branded as sexist...post-899-1174493220.jpg

Frankly, I admire any artist. I can only draw stick figures.
What she said.

Raquel Welch? Now, she is HOT!!!

I haven't seen a finer woman yet as when she did One Million B.C. She made that fur bikini rock! I also liked Jane Fonda in Barbarella.

I'm coming close to 40 and I am determined to fight Father Time with tooth and nail.

1M BC was my Raquel intro as a kid, mmm mmm. Not a fan of Jane's, but yeah, she was smoking in that movie too. I might have to leave early now.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Fighting father time is a waste of time. Go with it, with a smile on your face and a song in your heart. You'll be "hot". Any 50+ person with a positive outlook and good heart deserves it.

I'm over 50 so I may be a bit biased.

Group hug!

:laf: for all the 50+ stuff...

Actually I am completely unnerved by my own age. I'm just not into makeup, jewelry, fancy clothes, working out with your personal trainer and all the other stuff that's supposed to make you "healthy". I'll just eat my veggies, make all my meals from scratch, exercise naturally through walking, getting enough sleep, drinking in moderation.

OK, I'm weird, I admit it.

Fading Southern flowers refuse to go quietly into the night. We rage! rage! against the dying of the light.

Can you do the Triple Lindy too?

Do you also refuse to "...go gentle into that good night"?

Prolly onacuz you're so far away from the White Horse Tavern in Manhattan, where Dylan Thomas made his exit after something like 34 scotches, the bloody hypocrite.

I posted quietly instead of gentle because I certainly have a gentle touch.

Um....yeah....that's why I did it. Not like I would misquote anything.

The title alone would be an instant turnoff to this kid hating old curmudgeon.

Oh, that 'Back to School'...yeah, I suffered through it, although I never thought Rodney was anywhere as funny as he thought he was.
