So which one is more melodious to you?

Faroese.

Nothing against Italian, of course, but I like Nordic languages best.

We do nothing if not discuss our tastes here.

There are some huge differences among the Nordic languages. Unfortunately, the one stuck in my mouth is by far the ugliest sounding of them. Faroese and Icelandic have this ancient, dignified ring to them, Norwegian and Swedish are melodious, but Danish sounds like boiling porridge.

Ain't that the truth!

Norwegian is second best to me. But I love the way Faroese sounds with all the glides.

I've never heard spoken modern Danish, to my knowledge. Only Norwegian, Swedish, Icelandic, Faroese, Old Norse, and one archaic Danish dialect.

It is not beautiful what it is beautiful but it is beautiful what likes.

Non è bello ciò che è bello ma è bello ciò che piace.

:wave2: to everybody.

DP, do not worry that was just a sarcastic discussion Absomphe started and I have finished :P . There is nothing offensive in talking about history or languages (I am a linguist), though.

True, but I agree with Dakini, a newcomer shouldn't have to deal with the likes of Hitler, and Goebbels so after being welcomed.

Our apologies!

How about in FAROM's newcomer introduction we decide to discuss something that might be considered more pleasant, less divisive and less potentially offensive than this topic.

Thanks.
