Yeah, but the storks would never get to us in time. :)

Of course if it were just carrying the bottles. That's why you sow the bottles inside of

a dead midget...Duh! Do I have to think of everything?! Honestly!

It's bad luck to kill an albatross...

Well it's a bird, mate. It's bleeding seabird flavor, init?

Reminds me of the good old riddle about a man that goes into a restaurant and orders albatross. He eats some, then kills himself. Why?

I enjoy a good lateral thinking puzzle, but I've always had to ask a series of yes/no questions to solve them.

So, was his suicide due to something being wrong with the albatross he ate?

An oldie but very good classic!

OK, so nothing about the albatross caused him to kill himself?

Did something happen before he had dinner lead to the suicide?

Yes. And, well, you could say that something about the albatross caused him to. Just not that anything was wrong with it.

OK, suicide due to something that happened prior to eating dinner. And something about the albatross was also a trigger.

Was he with family or friends prior to dinner?

Did someone say something upsetting to him before dinner?

Did something bad happen to him before dinner?

Is he terminally ill or does he think that he is?

- He didn't come from any meeting with family/friends.

- Noone said anything upsetting.

- Something dramatic has happened to him, but not immediately before dinner.

- He is not terminally ill, neither does he think he is.

So something dramatic happened to him. OK, here goes more questioning.

Was he in an accident?

Did someone tell him something about his parentage/lineage?

Did he learn of upsetting news about any family members?

Did something bad happen to someone close to him?

DP, feel free to join in the yes/no questioning with me. Even if you do hate these things, once you get the hang of them they're fun!

- He has been in some kind of accident.

- Parentage/lineage is irrelevant.

- He did indeed learn some upsetting news (not during the accident, though).

- and yes, something bad has happened to someone close to him.

OK, now I think I'm getting some traction on this riddle. :)

Was a loved one hurt or killed in the accident he was in?

Did the accident involve a car, a plane, a boat?

Did the upsetting news come just before dinner?

Did he hurt or kill his own loved one somehow?

Does the albatross refer to the bird or the metaphor using the bird as an obstacle?

Was the man a pirate?

(I hate riddles and puzzles! Scowl.)

OK I think he killed his own albatross, his wife, who'd been nagging him for years and years...

OK, so it was a boating accident and he somehow was peripherally/accidentally involved with killing someone close to him.

Is the person who was hurt/killed his wife, daughter, mother, father, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, friend?

Did the upsetting news come after dinner?

Did he unintentionally hurt/kill his loved one?

I'm guessing that something about the dinner brought to light something that he had done to a loved one unintentionally.

Had the albatross eaten the remains of his loved one?

Did he find a piece of jewelry, like a wedding ring, in the albatross?
