Those of you courageous enough to venture out of the forum and onto the main web site may have noticed that I've added a new and fabulous article to our arsenal of absinthe info.

Ari graciously accepted the task of researching and writing a new, comprehensive, and much-needed article on thujone that includes citations of some of the more recent studies, including the one by Dirk Lachenmeier debunking the absinthism myths and which also supports other recent studies on thujone levels in modern and pre-ban absinthe.

The article is linked from the front page, the FAQ page and the Articles page.

It's a good read and brings a lot of useful information together in one place. I highly recommend it to your attention, and really big props go out to Ari for all the work he put into this. I will gladly take the credit for any typos or glaring errors which escaped my attention in proofing it.

Thanks Ari!!

Thanks.

Although I dislike killing mice, It would have also been interesting to see what type of dose was needed to kill mice pretreated with valium or alcohol.

Grey: That's the thujone you smell, I've been adding it to absente to make real absinthe.

Nice job Ari, thanks for doing that.
Litany against fear of Absinthe - I must not fear Absinthe. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my Absinthe. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the Absinthe has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
