Brut #2

Recommended Posts

As was the case with initial batch, I have rather mixed views on this product. It has its pluses and minuses. A few months aging should be allowed before any serious critique of the new batch is written. My initial thoughts are:

1. It is an improvement over the first run.

2. I'm glad it's available.

3. I'll look forward to trying the (presumed) third batch.

4. It could never dream of being on the same shelf with Clamsinthe.

Tonight, Some Blugrass dudes from Hillbilly lands

were very taken by the local Clam products the Northeast has to offer.

I think it's something in the water.

Clams and scallops, quite remarkable little beings. This may be old news for some, but nevertheless of interest for those engaged in the creative art of distilling: Removal of ethyl acetate by scallop shell ceramic (scroll down a bit to see the interesting part).

Oh, and I can't wait to try the second batch of the Brut! The first one has become very very nice after some months of aging.

I should probably look for the more appropriate thread, but I'll ask here for good measure:

Is it necessary (or desirable) to open a bottle before letting it "age"? From some of the comments I've read, I am inclined to let it age/rest without opening. How will I know if it benefitted without a comparison? Ah! I guess I'd better order two bottles... :)

Damn, I didn't even realize that was a mollusk. I was so trying not to let it make me feel inadequate that I read it as a ship's figurehead. You know, the lady under the bowsprit.

Now I really feel inadequate.

Well, look at it this way, the next time someone tells you your member is the size of a mollusk, you will have an overwhelming sense of pride.

Or am I projecting?
