Hello Everyone

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I'm excited to be a part of this community. I'm a 27 year old male who lives in the DC / Maryland area. I've only had absinthe once in a gimmicky absinthe bar in Barcelona, and, as Hiram told me, it was probably one of the cheap undistilled varieties (I don't know the variety, but the bottle said it was made in Barcelona).

I'm trying to put together my first order of Absinthe, hopefully splitting the shipping cost with a few friends. I'm thinking of getting some François Guy, as it seems to be the most cost effective for the quality.

Anyway, I'm glad this group exists. It's great to have someplace to talk about absinthe and La Belle Epoch.

Welcome. I'm still a newbie myself. Both to the forum and absinthe. I consider Frankie Guy a good table beverage. Not what I would chose to celebrate a special event but just fine for a relaxed evening at the computer.

Welcome to the forum! FG is a good place to start if you are on a budget. The Kübler 53 is also high-quality and cost-effective.

Welcome, gwarzilla! I'll bet there are several people in this forum (like me) whose first absinthe was an oil-mix absenta, so you're certainly not alone on that score. And FG or K53 are both great. Enjoy!
