Brooks

New Yorker piece

Recommended Posts

A friend e-mails to say that the March 13th issue of the New Yorker contains an absinthe piece entitled Green Gold. Anyone seen it? The issue isn't online yet, and New Orleans newstands are closed by the time I get off work.

I don't know how they generally do things at the New Yorker but isn't this typically one of those articles that they'd wait a while before putting online to make people buy the magazine instead...?

That is funny, because I thought Brooks even alluded to be being a New Yorker, myself.

I guess we need to PTFA, before we go around insulting people, even if it's only in our heads, eh, WildBill? ;)*

* In case you are a transplanted New Yorker, Brooks, I hope you know that my comment was meant in a tongue-in-cheek sort of way...after all, I had the misfortune of growing up in the city, myself! :harhar:

Sorry.

I think too much absinthe causes ADD.

Reminder to self:

Must attempt to harness those "clear headed" secondaries. :)

I'm not sure if they will get it right or not, but I'd hope from a mag. with the stature of The New Yorker, that they would.

We need a little good press anyway. I mean, in showbiz any press is good press, but this whole "bad" press thing doesn't seem to be helping us much...

At any rate, I'd like to see it too so if someone could scan/post/transcribe that would be great.

In a nut-cup:

I'm a native New Orleanian.

I've lived in NYC since 1970.

I'll be working in New Orleans for another two weeks.

Meet the new article, same as the old article.

The New Yorker article is a profile of TAB.  Wow.  What a shock.

The greatest sell out group ever! By damn, there's never enough Who references!
