  1. YAYYYYYYYYYY for wally world. I got one of these today (last one in the store in fact),and it works great!! I am still dealing with a somewhat improvised base, but found somethin to work temporarily. very cool. i also found some things that look like they would work at this site infusion jars but,i didnt really wanna pay for shipping, but,i figured if i got desperate, this seemed like a good alternative too. anyway, thanks for the heads up on these cool l'il jars verbal! yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Some friend you are! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> eh,...its all good. she knows I'm a smart ass
  3. oh man i miss that kinda stuff........i had a friend in the islands for some time who would just send me killer coffee, for no other reason other than we were just buds,...and she wanted me to try that stuff. now she lives back here in washington. i keep tellin her she needs to go back :D
  4. Please don't destroy the romance before my first louche!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> mmmmmm....yeah,sorry. he's right,...its just booze, but its really good booze. :D I would describe the sensation as a much more upbeat n clearer headed 'drunk' than your normal alcohol induced buzz. but if your caught up in the folklore and looking to absinthe to make you 'trip' you'll be sorely disappointed. .....but its still fun!
  5. aye, much better than king of spurtz
  6. mmmmmmm....no. dont get caught up in the thooooojone hype, unless your fond of serious ridicule 'round these parts. I'd stick to the jades, but they are expensive, then again, I (and this is just ME personally)also like the Verte de Fougerolles 72 ,and i am anxious to try their blanche as well. I have also developed a fondness for the Lemercier Amer 72,but that may open me up to ridicule,..but i still like it. Hiram has suggested to me to try the François Guy,but Jack always calls that drain cleaner,....but I'm gonna try it anyway :P . the Un Emiles are good 'starter' absinthes, but ..i have kinda grown tired of 'em,not as flavorful and too light of a louche for me,but their still oK. basiclly ANYTHING that is czech is crap o rama. unless you like guzzling mouthwash. :D there are plenty more developed and sophisticated pallettes here than mine,...but those are the few i have enjoyed so far. I'm sure many more folks will chime in on it soon too,....especially since you mentioned K.O.S.G.,which i have never actually tried, but talked to several people who have, and it seems to be considered just about THE most expensive draino available.
  7. welcome! but,if your going to Canadia, your going to be trying Hill's........which is far from the real thing. ick.
  8. hahahaha.....it rarely snows much here,..its usually is gone within 24 hours,...i live an hour or so south of seattle,.....we had snow last year that was annoying for excactly 24 hours.............'twas nothin......then again,..i'm used to the 6 ft snowfalls in montana and parts of northern alberta,.....which,have NO comparison to what we get here in the PNW,.......hell,...c'mon up!

    Hi

i am pretty sure my water is quite cold,...i fill the carafe with ice, then water and keep it in the freezer while i am in between drinks,...i only mix,3:1,sometimes 4:1,...but i dunno, just about every other brand i have had louches better,.....i don' git it mang. doesnt seem to affect my enjoyment of the drinking process,...i think its just the visual aesthetic that i miss.....does ANYONE else experiance this? damn,...my most active night on the forum yet....can you tell I've been imbibing for sometime tonight or what? hehehe

    Hi

hmmm....i dunno what the deal is,...i pour VERY slowly,...just enough to start the sugar melting, then i stop for a while,....and continue in that way until the sugar is gone,...but the emiles still dont louche well at all......dammit! :D i can use the same methods with Jade or Fougerelles, and get great louche,...hmmmm,...yeah,i need a fountain too,...i wanna build my own like hiram and mrgreengenes did,....but have yet to find a worthy container,...of course,..i havent persued it as agressivly as i could i suppose......guess i'm too busy drinkin :D
  13. mylo

    Hi

i like the Fougerelles better than the un emiles,..i dunno why tho,...i think it has a lot to do with the louche,or rather lack of a decent one with the un emile. and by the way, more experianced folks,...why is that? un emiles dont louche very well, why? i got a 3 flask sampler of emiles for xmas,...and the sapin and blanche are nice drinks,..but as i drink more absinthe,...i am finding i like a nice cloudy louche,as opposed to a drink i can see through. whats up with the louche? hmmm?

    Hello

greetings! hey! we have the same intials.
  16. hey, thanks for the input all,.....i was the curious one,as i got her price list a couple months back, and had remained baffled since i read it on how the hell she could ask such outrageous prices for just about everything on her list, especially the le bleues. after reading the list i certainly had NO intention of spending any $$$ with her,but for the life of me I honestly dont see why ANYONE would. $175 for Jades I can get cheaper from a distributor i have never had a problem getting shippments from,is just plain stupid. everything she sells appears to be priced in the stupid range, posters, spoons,EVERYTHING. i would have to agree with the shyster comment, and after re-reading her introduction and price list,i would have to say she seems to think QUITE highly of herself too. oh well,..there must be plenty of uninformed for her to leech upon,at least for now. I've noticed she never seems to make an appearence in ANY forums....hmmm,..could it be for fear of flames being hurled at her? just a thought.....anyway,.....its JADE N.O. time!!
  17. try it! you'll like it. once i tried it,....that was all she wrote,...i swallowed that hook and just kept swimming! ..and welcome,.....from one newbie,to another
  18. that looks awesome! i really need to get my ass in gear and make a fountain,i'm tired of the carafe method.
  19. mylo

  21. mylo

    hello!!

thats true,......i just have to keep it under lock and key until then,...damn thats some good stuff.....i still have a bottle of verte72 also to help curb the temptation
  22. mylo

    hello!!

  23. Hi all! Mylo from olympia here. Just checking in,I'm QUITE glad to see a local absinthe 'scene',no one i know seems to know anything about it but the long standing fiction and rumours surrounding this fine yummy substance. tonight i received my bottle of Jade N.O. ,which so far,is my favorite of the 3 varities i have tried. hope to share a glass or 2 with you all sometime soon! take care!
