  1. Greetings! I hope to visit New Orleans at some point in the near future as well, so I can observe the Sazeracs in their natural habitat...and greedily consume them!
  2. No doubt, he was drinking some of the really good stuff, with a high thujone count...a veritable classic like King Of Spirits And the moral of the film is "Don't buy crapsinthe or you'll just end up kicking yourself in the arse!" (no matter what era you're in)
  3. Speaking of Marilyn Manson, it's really too bad that funding fell through for the Alejandro Jodorowsky film King Shot, which was to be co-produced by David Lynch and star Nick Nolte, Asia Argento, Udo Kier and Marilyn Manson (as a 300 year old pope, none the less). Funding for this falls through, while such dreck as Battleship still manages to get made. It boggles the mind!
  4. I stumbled across this a while back as well. Nice, surreal early animation.
  5. And speaking of the Kindle Fire, I usually scroll with my right thumb and this has led to me unintentionally hitting the "Report" button a few times on various posts. Sorry about that.
  6. I use a Kindle Fire quite often to view the site, reviews and forum. It seems to work well for the most part.
  7. About to louche some Lucid and finishing up "The Death of Olivier Becaille", a short story by Emile Zola.
  8. Speaking of Seamus Heaney, has anyone read his translation of Beowulf? Excellent and I highly recommend it! ...And this nicely transitions to what I'm currently doing which is sipping on Lucid and watching Beowulf & Grendel. It tells the story with a sympathetic eye towards Grendel. It's pretty underrated in my opinion; and they do an excellent job with the ancient Scandinavian culture and dress. But I feel like I should be drinking mead instead of absinthe.
  9. Sounds great Hengeraven. I'll definitely do that. I've been trying to get my Dad interested in absinthe too and I think he wants to try it when I come up. At any rate, I know he'll want to pick up some of the Moonshine and the Apple-achian Shine. He's tried his hand at making a few batches of "apple pie" as well. Great stuff!
  10. Hello Manray, and welcome from another native Carolinian (though I live in Texas now). I'm coming back to South Carolina in January to visit family, and I'm definitely stopping by Dark Corners, hengeraven, to pick up some Green Villain.
  11. Just polishing off my third glass of Lucid. I have to say, 3 glasses of absinthe combined with (unwanted) sleep deprivation is not something I recommend, but it makes an interesting combination to be sure.
  12. Thanks for the other suggestions from Catskills as well, Pere Ubu. I'll hopefully be making an order within the next couple weeks....the level of my Lucid is getting dangerously low, and that's no good
  13. About to louche up some Lucid (because it's all I have right now) and listening to Charlie Parker - The Complete Savoy & Dial Master Takes http://youtu.be/C-oDXeeURyA
