  3. I was just about to purchase a bottle of Clandestine and a C.F. Berger from Drinkupny. When I ran into an issue at checkout. When it asked for a shipping state Kentucky was missing from the drop down box. So, I gave them a call and it appears they are not aloud to ship via UPS, Fedex etc. to Kentucky anymore. Has anyone heard about this? Does anyone know why? More importantly does anyone know who may be able to ship to Kentucky?

  5. I have recently picked up a bottle. It is a decent Absinthe as far as my untrained palette can tell, but there is a herb on the nose and taste I cannot place. I am not used to it in the Absinthes I normally enjoy. For some reason juniper jumps to the front of my mind when I smell and taste it, but I honestly do not know what it is. Anyone else try this yet?
  6. if your talking about the Copper & Kings it is 65% ABV 130 proof Blanche it isn't to bad, but it has an herb I cannot identify. I am assuming an herb to make it their own style of absinthe. Overall not bad but not awesome either for a new age absinthe. Has a very nice louche, but i would also not use it as a mixer either due to some unknown herb i keep tasting in the fore front. I'm more of a wormwood lover i guess.

  16. i started experimenting with a new concept... takes a bit more time than a drip to complete but is fairly fun to watch. i'll explain. i have a automatic ice maker in my freezer. i took a cube one day and placed it into a measuring glass to see how much water was in each cube. turns out they are .5 oz. each (roughly 15ml). i prefer my absinthe at 3 oz (90ml) of water. so what i did was take 3 cubes of ice place them into my glass laid a cube of sugar on top of those and then place 3 more cubes on top of that. i then measured and poured 1 oz of absinthe (30ml) and drizzled it over the ice all around the glass. it still louches very nicely but it takes a bit longer to complete than a drip and the sugar is obviously not completely mixed. From a server stand point i would guess i would drop a stir stick in the drink and once the absinthe has begun to melt the ice and louche, the customer could stir the drink and it would start off pretty strong with minor sips and begin to mix perfectly as the drink sat a bit longer. It does keep your absinthe much colder for an extended period of time. just something i have been playing with. i will probably use simple syrup to replace the cube to allow a better mix of sugar in the drink. thoughts? :D i have kinda nick named it as an Absinthe on the rocks.

  20. Ok, i didn't want to make a new thread when there was one on the site. So, Brian and Ambear you like it? do you louche it? or prefer it neat? Or as i read just add a little bit of water to it?
