I read a thread here some time ago about this (or maybe it was somewhere else).It advised against storing absinthe in the freezer like vodka,or adding ice to absinthe neat,because the oils will crystallize.I've occasionally added an ice cube to a louched glass that got warm and never had a problem.

  3. With all the buzz about the new L'Ancienne,I couldn't resist the temptation to pour a glass of 2011 L'Ancienne this afternoon.
  4. I know he wasn't crazy about it either.If I remember correctly,he said it tasted like someone poured equal amounts of each Jade into one bottle & called it Terminus.If he didn't say that then someone else I spoke with about it did.

A couple of weeks ago,a generous WWS member was nice enough to send me a sample of this new Jade.I do like the Jade line,and VS 1898 is probably my favorite.I let the sample sit for a few days,and let it breathe for a half hour before I louched.Unfortunately I didn't come away with the same impression as Brian did in his review. It wasn't bad,but it wasn't great either.Maybe my sample just came from a "bad bottle",but it seemed as though all the ingredients were pulling in separate directions rather than blending harmoniously with each other to form a collective profile.I'll wait for the next batch or two before ordering a couple bottles.

  9. I wish those were my first five absinthes.I prefer MOL over WW,but since you have one already,why not give the other a try.You might consider her Blues Cat as well.Enjoy the journey!

  14. Authentique and Roquette from 2012.I have a few pops of the Roquette left and then I guess I'll be opening the 2013 batch.I hope it's not as off as people have been saying.
  15. A friend stopped by & we got into some VP with a splash of Sapin,La Clandestine,Pacifique,BDJ,and a few bing cherries soaked in Graves grain alcohol for 2 years along with a shot of the juice.Glad I don't have to work tomorrow.
