  1. Started with Spirit of New Orleans Praline Pecan Liqueur on my Shrove Tuesday pancakes...and now that I'm stuffed with pancakes, it's time for a good digestif: Vieux Carre! Happy Mardi Gras, y'all!
  2. Greetings, André! Bienvenue à la Nouvelle Belle Epoque! Welcome to the Wormwood Society forum! As they say, it's l'heure verte somewhere in the world. Enjoy!!
  3. I love antique shopping, and I have found some cool things, like a set of 6 green uranium glass cordials. There was not much information on the tag, but I figured they were depression glass. It wasn't until a week or two after I purchased them that I discovered that they glow under black light! So far I have found no absinthe glasses, though. And many of the store employees that I asked had not heard of absinthe. One woman responded to my inquiry about antique absinthe glasses by asking me if I meant reading glasses!
  4. That thought's too much for me, too! The indignity of it all!
  5. I'm sure that I will like those, too, when I get the opportunity to try them. They are on my wish list, but unfortunately I haven't found any place local yet that carries them. I'm putting off ordering on-line as there are so many choices that I'm afraid I'll blow the budget. So difficult to just pick one or two. And I need to use up some of the other stuff in the cupboard to make room for more absinthe!
  6. Tonight I'm having a concoction I call N'awlins Nog, or Nola Nog: a glass of egg nog with a shot of Spirit of New Orleans Praline Pecan Liqueur. Cheers, Y'all!
  7. Yep, I figured that when he mentioned hops! It sounds like a good beer to try. I just bought a mini bottle because I hadn't tried Abyss absinthe before, and I'll try any kind of absinthe that I can get in a mini. (The selection in minis leaves alot to be desired.) I doubt I'd ever buy a full size bottle, but I didn't think it was that bad. It's better than other minis I've had!
  8. Yeah, baby! So, what do y'all think of the Abyss? I had a glass of that yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. The only review that I've read had me expecting something abyssmally bitter.
  9. I think I agree with you, Stardust. I was prepared for something nasty and bitter, having read Brian's review. I was pleasantly surprised, and I had no trouble finishing the min bottle. Frankly, I have not tasted any absinthe that I couldn't finish, but then again, I have not had any of the Czech stuff.
  10. Yes, and it's a fine absinthe. JMO Definitely worth having around all the time. I agree. Here's my take on the old Calgon jingle: "Pontarlier, take me away!"
  11. Ok just noticed it will be done in Amsterdam, you can abandon hope According to the supreme Italian poet Dante Alighieri, one should only abandon all hope when one is standing at the gates of Inferno! Having never been there, nor to Amsterdam, I cannot tell exactly how much hope there may be for this project.
  12. This is true. I'm asking about the specific location of the billboard. I know where Hawaiian Gardens is. In fact, I was there a few hours ago, but I didn't spot any Lucid billboards.
  13. A Lucid billboard in Hawaiian Gardens?! Can you please tell me where it's located? I would like to see it for myself.
  14. Greetings, and welcome to the forum, Greenferri'!
  15. God!! What an odd picture I got from that! A good smiley representing your (late?) cats face, as I see it, would be something like this. Or maybe like this. Oh, the indignity of it all!
