  1. Hi all, Just wanted to let you know we've finally got our absinthe into a shipping store- Binny's now stocks both of our absinthes. Also just got the BTI results- 95 for our Amerique 1912 Absinthe Rouge and a 94 for our Amerique 1912 Absinthe Verte. Looking forward to more Society members reviews! Guy
  2. Thanks all for the warm welcome! Leroy M.- Ready for visitors now! We're open to Society members anytime! Seeker- we're bottling the 2009 batch of Pumpkin today! I can only say it's even better than last years. Scotteh- Stop in we're an hour away! Star Liquor in Madison most likely will already have the absinthe in stock... All- hope to get the absinthe into Binny's and DUNY soon!! Thanks again!! Guy
  3. The TTB did put this as a requirement on our formula. In the year of battles we had trying to get the labels approved I decided this was one fight not worth fighting. Now that I think about it I don't think I won any of those fights.... Thanks for the kind words! Guy
  4. Hi All, Just to answer a few items that have come up here... Package- We decided to do 375ml's to make absinthe more accessible. When we were talking to people in our area about absinthe we found a reluctance to make the investment in a bottle of something that a lot of people weren't sure they would like, by doing a smaller bottle we get it down to a price range that opens up trying absinthe to more people. Distribution- as I'm sure many of you are aware distribution for little guys like us is painful to say the least. We hope to get the product into Binny's and more online stores in the near future. The state of Wisconsin does not permit us or liquor stores in our state to ship spirits to consumers. In the meantime, we welcome visitors to our distillery/tasting room. We're looking forward to Scott's visit and his impressions of our products! I'm sure he'll have more to report soon. Guy
  5. Hi all, I'm Guy Rehorst, founder of Great Lakes Distillery, a small craft distiller in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. You may not know me but I've been lurking here for years. I've finally decided to register because a topic has developed re our two new absinthes. I may not get the opportunity to spend much time here- (distilling which has taken up the last 6 or 7 years of my life shows no signs of letting up) but will try to get into some discussions and answer questions when possible. Thanks to many of you who, whether you know it or not have fueled my interest in absinthe these last several years! The level of knowledge found here is astounding. Thanks, Guy Rehorst
