  1. Greetings from the barbarian Norway! Yes, here we have about two choises of food: fish or Reindeer (similar to the american Caribou) So, here is a recipe that's quite similar to what I had in the evening: Caribou Empanadas Amount Measure Ingredient Preparation Method 1 lb Ground caribou 1/4 c Butter 2 lg Onions chopped 1/2 c Chopped olives 1/2 c Chopped celery 2 Jalapeno peppers chopped Salt and pepper to taste 2 tb Vinegar 1 sm Can tomato sauce 2 tb Worcestershire sauce 1 Recipe pie crust pastry In a large skillet, melt butter, and brown meat. Add other ingredients and simmer about 20 min. Remove from the stove and chill. Make your favorite pie pastry, cut in circles about the size of a cup. Place the meat mixture in center and fold over, pricking with fork. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake in 350 oven, 20 to 25 minutes. Tastes VERY good together with a glass of... yes you all know...
  2. First of all: Welcome Second: You are a lucky bastard living in LA Third: Yes, I'm into cars (have a Porsche myself) Fourth: You were talking about living in a remote place. Well, I live in Norway. No parties, no green hours, not anything :-D Anyway: Keep on drinking, and be in a good mood an healthy every day
  3. Interesting information indeed! At the moment I'm writing loads of e-mails to all my german friends =) I'll let you all know when the enzian schnaps has arrived, been tasted and enjoyed
  4. Enzian schnaps belongs to a group of dry, bitter liqueurs made by steeping gentian root ( a wild, mountain Alpian plant) or essence in a wine or distillate base. It is usually bottled at a moderately low 16-18% alcohol strength, but I have seen them at least up to 40% (i.e Hiekes Echter Enzian). Some producers are also making a schnaps of other enzian species, making it more like the "poisonous" absinthe drink. So it might be possible to see the cousin of La Fée Verte if you are lucky enough... Have anybody tried enzian schnaps? It's by the way supposed to be good for the stomach
