Well, with all the praise for yankee absinthes I've heard here lately and after visits to several of the distillers' websites to get some more background. I'd love to get my hands on the Delaware Phoenix products or St. George and even some Marteau ( this I've tried and enjoyed) but finding a distributor (or someone to ship Worldwide to South Korea) is something of a problem. Any suggestions? my web searches thus far have been in vain.

Since you are looking for DP you should contact Catskill Cellars, you can find a thread here in the forum, sorry I don't know how to link you, or you should try Astor wines in N.Y. You can also try Drink Up N.Y. which also ships international including S. Korea. but no DP but maybe something else ?

The funny thing here is someone one criticized me for starting to write a piece of work called "American Absinthe" by saying there is no such thing as American absinthe. Well now the world knows. Let us know what you think of America's offerings once you give them a try.

Drink up, Drink well, Drink absinthe.

Unfortunately, Catskill Cellars does not ship internationally and DrinkUp NY quotes ridiculous shipping rates for Korea (150$ for 1-6 bottles). I'm having 8 bottles sent from Germany for about 80$ so DrinkUP is just highway robbery. Too bad too as they had St. Georges.

Astor doesn't ship internationally either. Guess I'm screwed and have to settle for all that European stuff .

Not much different than some other retailers shipping to the US.

I paid nearly $200 in shipping from a Euro retailer recently for 9 bottles. But we do what we have to do!

You are either well off financially or unmarried

Actually, that's exactly how it was done pre April 2007. I always figured shipping into my budget on each order so the flying monkeys could get their fair share. We had to be creative. get a few people together to take the sting out of shipping.
We're a spoiled lot now. <shrug>
I still buy from the old incontinent because they still offer some mighty good booze. But not nearly as often as I used to.
The best of luck to you in your search.

spelling fix.

I fall in the unmarried category. I know if I had a wife or girlfriend I wouldn't be buying half the stuff that I buy. Ranging from absinthe to Shimano bike parts.

Did you order through absinthe.de? marks shipping rates are pretty good eh? I am in the same boat as you though I*d like to try a few american brands but the shipping would spoil the taste.

No, I order through Jens Oerlings' 1a-absinthe.com and have been more than happy with the service, packing etc.

Those of us in North America have put up with that same shipping problem for years. In a twisted fashion, it's almost funny to see the shoe on the other foot although I wouldn't wish the shipping cost curse on anyone.

Well, actually since I'm neither in Europe or America it's always difficult and involves curious customs agents and probing questions under bright lights. Maybe we should get Mcdonalds involved in the booze business before you small time producers blow yourselves up when the welds on your alembics fail. Anyone for a McVerte?? A non alcoholic McMonkey Gland for the kiddie meals perhaps?
