On March 5, 2007, the French Lucid brand became the first genuine absinthe to receive a COLA (Certificate of Label Approval) for legal importation into the United States since 1912.

I think while we all have our opinions about Lucid, a warm helping of appreciation is due to those who pushed the envelope to make commercial offerings available on my Absinthe shelf, and yours too.

Wasn't there a thread last year that asked which day we should use as the date to celebrate?

I'll still toast this day with a couple of glasses of absinthe tonight.

While I'm all for celebrating the glorious fact that we can legally buy (and make) absinthe here now, I'll wait to assign a date until there has actually been a change in law and the term "absinthe" is enshrined in the CFR.
Ron

My 'rents knew about this and I didn't. Sheesh, I'm losing it!

It'd be a great day to get an accurate definition on the books. abs-cheers.gif
