Well all I am a newbie when it comes to on-line Absinthe ordering but this caught my eye as I was surfing thru web sites.
They offer to "Camouflage" my bottles.
For a whopping $4.50 they say they will remove the labels then relable the bottles as something else for customs clearing.
Thennnnnn a few days later the real label with adhesive backing arrives to
re-label yet again the bottle that I got .
????????
Here is the web site,,

Comments anyone,,,,,

I've seen this done with cigars but not Absinthe.
Most reputable sellers guarantee delivery anyway so I don't see any
need to go to this much trouble.
Just my opinion.

Look at the tripe they sell. Why would you want to support such a business?

"As you may be aware, the legality of absinthe in the US is still hazy. The DEA does not currently have thujone (the active ingredient in absinthe) on any schedule, meaning it is not considered an illegal substance. The issue currently resides with the FDA, which forbids it as a consumable. However, absinthe is also an herbal liqueur and herbal liqueurs are not forbidden in the US. "

This shows they haven't got a clue about absinthe, thujone, or US law.

It's a marketing scheme to sucker in uninformed people who need to feel like they're being "bad" and going behind a curtain, back-alley, etc... Stupid. They get what they deserve.

They aren't on my approved vendors list. Why camouflage crap? Embarrassed perhaps? thumbdown.gif

$4.50 sounds like they don't care enough to put the labels back on straight...so they'll probably be crooked. dev-1.gif

My guess is they also have a complimentary camouflaged rip-off option included with certain orders, in which they take the label off the rip-off, sell it, and then put the label back on after the package has been delivered.

Insaine I know,,,,Anyone got a good suggestion for Canada that isn't over board on shipping.

Matt: When ordering absinthe into Canada the issue is not that it is absinthe but rather the fact that it's alcohol. The only way to legally import alcohol into Canada is to go through the provinces liquor board.

Read the thread on absinthe in Canada. The only place to order within Canada is Premier Wine and Spirits. There shipping costs are low. They also haue the most affordable fountain I've seen on the net.

From Europe: Spirits Corner (high shipping but bottles are well priced); Absinthe-Shop.com; and Rue verte. They all offer 100% delivery guarantee. That's what you want to look for when ordering to Canada.

Didn't we haue this conversation before?
