Currency Exchange: US Dollar vs British Pound (and others through free service below)

Not sure where this needs to be posted, so if it's out of place, my apologies. I personally feel it's good to know, so I know when to buy and what to expect.

This isn't spam, I actually use this service and just thought i'd share it if anyone else is interested. If not, again, my apologies.

I have been keeping up with foreign currency exchange rates for quite some time now, and noticed that right now, the exchange rate on the US Dollar to GBP is at the highest it has been in a good while.

Why is this important? Well, because if you buy absinthe and other liqueurs from overseas (like I do), this means it would be a great time to get your order in while the dollar is worth its most!

First (top) value is how many US Dollars it takes to make one British Pound.
Second (bottom) value is how many British Pounds it takes to make one US Dollar.

I've been getting the XE daily updates for six years now. Last March the pound went down to $1.40.

WoW! I wish we could see those days again. Nowadays, when our dollar even gains a few cents in value, I feel it's an accomplishment. Times are hard and every penny counts, ya know?

I took huge advantage of this too.

I've got to start paying more attention...I completely missed the $1.40 window.

Since I just sprung for a couple bottles from DUNY, I will likely miss this opportunity as well <sigh>. Still, one hopes that Ted Breaux and co. will eventually get the PF 1901 and the Edouard on the shelves in the States....

Yep! abs-cheers.gif

I took shameless advantage when the pound fell precipitously in the fall of 2008 too. Ah, the good old days...
