Well all,
I am a Absinthe newbie. This month has been my first attempt to find the right type for me.
This past weekend my Girlfriend had the office gals over for a small X-Mas get together and I thought this would be a good time for all to try the first 3 bottles I have ever bought.
The first being a Lucid and the second being Versinthe and last the Absente.
I was suprised to see the willingness to try something new attitude in her friends but that is Quebec haha.
To this point I have only had a glass of Absente as my Absinthe experience.
The evening went well mixed with other drinks but the talk was about the new discovery of Absinthe. We can't wait to try better brands.
I have allways been a fan of Jagermeister and diffrent liquors but I am totally hooked on the Absinthe taste now.
Whether the bottles I had were the best or the worst the evening went very well.
I guess after several glasses I was in a good position for the last picture of the night in front of the dying fire.

Good on you!
I won't talk too badly about your booze because I remember the dreck I started with. I will say, wait until you spill some first class swill across your tongue. You are in for a real treat! abs-cheers.gif

I just found out we have Taboo available a Canadian made Absinthe. This will be my next bottle.
I also just discovered tonight that we have a Bistro called Absinthe now in Ottawa that serves,
Taboo,Hills and the Pernod.
I know the others have got a bad review
but it looks like the Taboo is promising. laugh.gif

I am a fan of Taboo. It's a fantastic staple absinthe. Check out Premier Wine and Spirits in Halifax for ordering La Clandestine as well.
