As part of its 10th anniversary Google has put up its
2001 search engine and results. Seven years is a lifetime; a search for "ipod" yields something called the "Image Proof of Deposit Document", while Myspace is an Australian home improvement site. Sarah Palin? "Did not match any documents".
Gwydion Stone back then was debating pipe tobacco, Theodore Breaux was signing anti global warming petitions, Joe Legate was putting on a show "recommended for mature audiences."
The
absinthe search results are interesting too.

At least some things don't change. We will have offered four such "mature" shows by the time 2008 is in the can. On the other hand, absinthe options have certainly improved.

My first regular source of la bleue, which was better than the majority I've tried, to this day.
Oh, the nostalgia!
Thanks, Alan.
