"...or discover your own style of conjuring the green fairy". Something about that phrase reminded me of the video Larspeart posted a while ago.
I'm curious to hear a review; any absinthe named after a character from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has to at least be interesting. -------------------- The basic tools of the absintheur are essentially a spoon, glass, sugar cube, chilled water, and absinthe. None of the other objects are actually necessary to prepare the drink, but they are imperative for instigating a type of visual hypnosis and bringing richness to the ceremony.

Even if Trillium is in fact named after a genus of about 40-50 species of perennial herbaceous flowering plants, and the Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy character was called Trillian ...

Does this absinthe lack fennel? The blurb mentions anise, wormwood and hyssop.
It's kind of a pretty label though. I wonder what it's going for. -------------------- Walking the ocean

Sorry 'bout that... I shall buy a bottle as penance... I just read the piece in The Oregonian, and it's expected to be in the local stores by the weekend at $59.99 a bottle. I'll be down at my favorite store (Pearl Specialty Market) later tonight, and make an inquiry.
Shall we organize a sample taste-exchange? I'm relatively new, but would love to help the folks out, and I've never tried any of the Jades... -------------------- "If you've never said anything that can be held over your head on the internet, you've never been on the internet." - Peridot

On that new WS homepage, there's a link to a KPTV article that says they're the second distillery to produce absinthe in the US after St George in Alameda.

I pick up two bottles tomorrow (Friday) morning, I just confirmed with the shop. One for me, one for the good of the order.
By my count, I have seven interested: Shabba, OMG_Bill, T73, LeRoy, buddhasynth, Butch, and Zman. That works out to around 105ml per person, or just about two shots per person. Like I said before, I've not done this before, but I recall that such a sharing happened upon an earlier release. How does one go about the process? I can see going out and getting some sealable bottles from a source (Cost Plus World Market, or somesuch). Any suggestions? And ideas on the exchange process? Trading? Cover my out-of-pocket? -------------------- "If you've never said anything that can be held over your head on the internet, you've never been on the internet." - Peridot

Along with purchasing the 100ml bottles...
Consider whether you want to cover the cost of the absinthe and bottles or do a sample swap. I'm sure we're all good with either approach. Everyone should PM their snailmail address and work out which samples to swap, if you go that route (so you don't end up with 6 samples of Grande Absente.
